Two Women Who Dared to Live Their Life Less Ordinary:
Eileen Collins, is a woman who dreamed big and did not allow anything or anyone to distract or derail her from doing what to some might be described as the impossible dream.
"And we have a lift off, reaching new heights for women and astronomy." - by John Shepler"
In command of Columbia as it departed the Kennedy Space Center was
United States Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Eileen Marie Collins,
America's first female space pilot and now shuttle commander.
Eileen had a dream as a child that would have proven impossible for most.
She not only had a dream, she had belief and passion to accomplish it.
She never stopped dreaming and she never stopped pursuing it.
Harriet Tubman, is a woman without equal (1820-1913). I leave you to research
this wonderful African American woman’s history who allowed nothing to keep her
from doing great exploits that impacted countless lives. She was awarded the silver
medal by Queen Victoria. She believed no one would be truly free - woman or man,
black or white - until everyone was free.
She was black, she was a slave, she was a woman yet none of these strong prejudices
kept her from fulfilling her God given destiny. She was driven with passion and purpose.
"Fear does not have any special power unless you empower it by submitting to it" - Les Brown
What about you?
It has been said, "If you keep doing what you have always done you will keep getting what you have always gotten."
